The lodge is located on a small nature reserve which is home to a variety of wildlife and bird life. After a restful overnight stay in an executive suite, wake up before sunrise for an unforgettable classic hot air balloon flight of approximately three hours across the Cradle of Humankind or the Magaliesberg. Sip on champagne as the pilot treats you to magnificent drifts over the water, low-level flying at tree top height, or soaring into the skies, from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the unmatched African landscape. Your romantic experience begins as you ride out with your sweetheart into a beautiful nature reserve, where wildlife is viewed on the ride. The horseback safari will arrive at a surprise picnic spot after 1 hour. We set up a lovely wooden table with non alcoholic sparkling wine, a snack platter, a box chocolates, plus a bunch of flowers. Enjoy your private picnic for approx 40 mins and then ride back to base. We offer a standard platter for picnics - e.g Biltong, Crackers, Cheeses, Dips, Fruit etc - You are welcome to bring any additional food/beverages with you in a backpack.Once you are back at the stables, you can then take a slow drive (10kms) to Château la Mer, an exclusive upmarket, French inspired guesthouse, nestled in the quiet suburb of Ifafi in Hartbeespoort. This guesthouse is family owned and managed.
