Water

With a vast coastline covering nearly 3000 kilometres and many water bodies inland, South Africa offers some of the most adventure-filled water activities and experiences on the Vaal River and Hartebeespoort dam to mention but two. Whether you’re looking for romantic things to do with your love, adrenaline experiences to have with your buddies, or simply some fun in the sun for the family, we’ve got you covered.

Gather up your friends or family and book a jet boat ride or speed boat rides.  Blow your buddies’ minds with video footage of you flyboarding on the Vaal or Hartbeespoort dam.  It’s really easy, but it looks super-impressive!  You can also enjoy the thrill of the wind in your hair and the spray on your face as you set out on one of the many speed boat rides on offer in South Africa.

If you’re looking for exciting things to do with your love, or a small group of friends or family, few things beat a boat trip. Consider looking into private charters if you have a special event coming up, such as a proposal, wedding, or special birthday party.

A sunset cruise and dine is another fantastic way to pop the question, or simply for a special date night idea.  From sunset champagne cruises with scenic helicopter flips followed by dinner to a cruise and overnight stay at a Cape Town hotel, you will be spoilt for choice, and make quite an impression in the process.

There are also several lunch and dinner cruises in Cape Town from which to choose.  The Alba is one popular choice, as is the Sunday lunch cruise by the Harties Boat Company on the Hartbeespoort dam. Then of course, you could spend the night on the water in a luxury yacht.  That will give you the sensation of cruising when you only have one or two nights to escape from reality.
