Shark Cage Diving on the South Coast of KZN
Upon arrival first thing in the morning, you’ll be greeted and briefed and then led through an introductory session on shark conservation and diving etiquette.
Then it’s off to the boat…
With a surf launch you head straight into the water through the waves. Heading out to sea to one of the reefs, you’ll keep an eye out for shark activity. Once found, you’ll get into your wetsuits and goggles then the cage is lowered and you can climb in. During summer, you are free to dive in just your swimming costume as the water is so warm.
Experience close encounters with a variety of sharks off the coast south of Durban. This unique experience in a steel cage brings you right up close to groups of sharks in their natural habitat.
By nature, sharks are non-confrontational which means that you can view them in safety while they hunt and swim around you. Most of the shark species you will see such as Black Fin and Spinner sharks are smaller species which feed on small fish only, although occasionally you’ll be lucky to see something bigger!
